You would assume, after all my semi-aggressive attempts at marketing (semi-aggressive by my standards, as a totally meek, shy, spineless etc person),which includes freezing in a cave for a photo-opportunity, that my book has been around forever ago… but, much to your surprise and karindihan, the official book launch is yet to happen… on November 19! We already had an initial signing during the MIBF, a Mary Mediatrix Department of Internal Medicine launch, and a signing at the Edsa Shang during the annual convention of the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology, but we are once more asking, begging for your indulgence and kind attention, as Milflores Publishing officially launches Even Ducks Get Liver Cancer And Other Medical Misadventures this Saturday at The Library Cafe! Five friends who initially committed have already backed out, and at this rate I I might end up talking to wet grass and dragonflies (it will be done in the al fresco area). Speaking of, the annual convention of the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology was held last week at the Edsa Shang, and the governing council has graciously given me a tiny sari-sari store area for selling and book signing. Of course I had my batchmates and other close friends to support me during the lull moments. “Pretend there’s a line and that you’re clamoring for my attention,” I had instructed them.
