EDGLC Wins at the National Book Awards!

Had a great time at last Saturday’s awards night for the 41st National Book Awards. Even Ducks Get Liver Cancer and Other Medical Misadventures wins for the Best Non-Fiction Prose in English, tied with the biography of Senator Rodolfo Biazon written by screenwriter Eric Ramos, which was also published by Milflores Publishing. I was accompanied by my mother and sister, and my sister was tasked to take almost all of these photos. The National Book Awards are being given by The Manila Critics’ Circle and the National Book Development Board.

I always imagined that one day I will win something that will require me to go up a stage, and that when that happens I want something from Jagged Little Pill to play, as if I won an MTV Video Music Awards for it. Yes, I want to be Alanis Morissette winning the VMA for Best Female Artist in the 1996 VMA’s! Tiktok has fulfilled this DELUSION!

It has been a great 1 1/2 years since the book’s release, and I’m happy to announce that the book will soon be having its 3rd print run! We were contemplating whether it’s time for a new, updated cover, but the publisher has decided, and I very much agree, that Mike Gallardo’s cover is still very effective so we’re sticking with it. Thank you very much, everyone, for all your support!

      • I’m trying to get the kindle version, but somehow, it wouldn’t let me. I’ll figure something out 😁

I’ve read the reviews (in different places), and because I like the way you write here on WP, I am quite certain I shall enjoy the book. I’ll definitely find a way! 😁

        Again, congratulations!
