Pills

One lonely day in the summer of 2016 I drove to the Coffee Bean branch in front of Mary Mediatrix and drank a huge cup of ice blended sugar (with a hint of coffee). I can’t quite remember why I was so bummed out, I just remember feeling horrible. I tried reading a Stephen King book, but I couldn’t get into the mood.

So I watched a clip on Youtube, particularly, of Alma Moreno getting interviewed by Karen Davila for her upcoming senatorial candidacy. Miss Moreno has been hemming and hawing the entire time, and when she finally screamed “PILLS!” like a quiz bee contestant I broke into maniacal laughter, vaporizing all my sadnesses. I suddenly remember this incident because BVM’s “Daycare!” recommendation to address the plights of solo parents sounded very “pills!”. Not nearly as hilarious, though. More like horrifying.
