Tonight’s Soap Recap!

I hardly have any subscription to anything because I’m totally stingy, and again I blame the poverty mindset of hellowship. But of course if someone offered to let me borrow a Netflix group account, who am I to refuse. But since everyone’s stuck at home, to my horror, a notification appeared that “too many devices are using the account that you are mooching from”. This is the perfect opportunity, therefore, to catch up on Kapuso soaps which are all on replay!!!

In Kambal Karibal, the ghost of Criselda appears before Crisanta in the most inopportune time–while she is still at work as a fastfood crew, and in the most unlikely places–in the middle of a busy hi-way with trucks passing her transparent body by. Criselda is quite a whiny, resentful ghost, begrudging that Crisanta is still alive while crying buckets of ghostly tears. Crisanta’s manager catches her slacking off and talking to an invisible figure outside the restaurant instead of actually working, which is the real cliffhanger. Will she get scolded?

Following Kambal Karibal is Meant To Be, featuring Billie and four hunks of various nationalities. Billie bemoans that the guys, who she perceives are bullying her, hold their jobs only for the heck of it, while she has to work because she is poor. In secret, she actually finds one of the guys very cute. I asked Eleesabeth Holmes what he thinks of this TV series, to which he scathingly replied “There are already four hot leading men but still nobody roots for any of them. That show never got good ratings.” Ouch.

Last on the menu is My Husband’s Lover, and in this episode Vincent finally admits to Eric that he still loves him after all these years, to the tune of Kuh Ledesma’s One More Try (which plays during the entire episode). Eric tells Vincent over the phone, “I’ll be staying in my unit… should I give you the address?” to which Vincent gleefully replies with the only appropriate response for someone who’s been deprived of manly love for ten years: YES! YES PLEASE!

This will be an exciting week!
