Splat!

Was finally able to attend this year’s internal medicine residents’ graduation. The past few years (except for the 2020/2021 when everything was online), I was either having clinic in Manila Med, or was having my scheduled March allergic rhinitis (which really started to occur less often since the intensified masking practice).

Was tasked to do the white coat ceremonies for some of the residents. I had been the 2nd year residents’ coordinator for the past 6 years, and was very happy at each one’s astronomical growth.

There was no buffet for safety purposes, so they gave us packed lunch. I was handed a huge box with seven tiny boxes inside. I thought I was to distribute each box-let to everyone in the table. “They’re all for you,” the kind waitress said. So I just ate half the rice and one of the viands. There were five other dishes, so I brought the box home. As soon as I got home, I accidentally dropped the box on the way from the car to the door, and everything splattered on the floor.

I was tagged in Facebook by Atty. Andrea Pasion-Flores, head of Milflores Publishing, to this column written by the one and only Mr. Butch Dalisay. My upcoming, er, “debut” “Even Ducks Get Liver Cancer and Other Stories” is mentioned at the very end. Very grateful for the generous description “hilarious romp”. Nakaka-pressure, I would have settled for “mildly entertaining”.😆
