Booklauncheth At Ze Library

Had the “official” book launch at The Library a few weeks back, and of course it rained really terribly. Present were some of the family and friends I managed to drag out of bed, as well as Koji Arsua and Ade from When in Manila, Red of The Manila Times, and booktoker Ms. Andrea Panaligan.

Atty. Andrea Pasion-Flores, publisher of Milflores Publishing, delivered her speech, after which I did my attempt at a stand-up. To my friends’ credit they courtesy-snickered here and there. The highlight of it all, of course, was the informal unveiling of Smoketh’s identity to those who’ve already read the book. “Let me introduce you to the one and only… Smoketh,” I told Atty. Andrea and Frey, who then gushed, “OMG you’re my spirit animal!”

Some of the stars of the book–my batchmates from internal medicine residency–weren’t able to attend, which was strange considering that they were only next door at The Diamond Hotel for the PGH Internal Medicine post-graduate course. I told them–demanded!–that my book launch was way more important than such an academic endeavor, but I couldn’t trick them. I promised I shall resent it forever, as a totally vindictive cunt!

Even Ducks Get Liver Cancer still available at the following stores! For those who want a personalized dedication (hihihi) order through the bitly link or QR code.
