For a couple of years now I’ve been stashing my books in an old closet, and I realized that because I don’t really see these books all that often I tend to accumulate unread books! To solve this I bought a new bookshelf and displayed most of the books that I haven’t read yet. Those I”ve finished I keep in a box, or I might give away. Been attending many book fairs in the past two years, and I would always buy and accumulate Filipiniana titles specially those of my friends. It is also not a good idea to walk around the book fair with my friend, Joti, who would just pick out books and tell me, “Ito, bilhin mo ito. Ito pa.” It is no longer an act of enabling, more of dictatorship. I discovered many great authors because of this dictatorship.
And while organizing my books I realize that I now have most of the books of my co-fellows from the 62nd UP National Writers Workshop! I’m just missing BJ Crisostomo’s book of one-act plays. Try to check out these titles!
