My mother wanted to watch the upcoming concert of Regine and Sharon, so I tried to book 2 tickets for her and my sister via the Ticketworld website. When I clicked the pay button, I was informed that there was an error, and that the purchase was not successful. I was then notified by text that my credit card was charged P31,000. Eeep! I tried to call the 3 numbers on the Ticketworld website, emailed the 2 email addresses, sent a message via Messenger.
Days later, no response, and none of the telephone numbers could be reached. The worst part was I had no choice but to reactivate the sumbungan ng bayan, Twitter. I had deactivated Twitter a few weeks ago because staying there is like being telepathic and hearing everyone’s whines and sexual fantasies consistently. But at least I saw a few tweets fuming about similar Ticketworld problems.
A few days later Ticketworld just kept on ignoring everyone, their social media managers just posting Canva-created stuff like “Happy Independence Day!” instead of at least acknowledging any one of the of the customers in distress. Anyway I called my bank this morning and was informed that the charges were finally reversed. Meanwhile Ticketworld is still kebs, ie, ni ha ni ho. I hope that when Keane, Green Day, Tori Amos, and Weezer do their concert here, Ticketworld wouldn’t be handling the tickets. By this time you might already be thinking that I should have elevated this to the REAL sumbungan ng bayan, Raffy Tulfo, but he’s a senator now, and I don’t want to steal airtime from domestic abuse.
Speaking of, it seems that the Jagged Little Pill 25th Anniversary tour will finally push through in November. It was originally slated to run during the height of the pandemic in April 2020. I was doing chemo when the online ticketing was about to open sometime in January 2020, and by the time I logged on at the first minute I was already number 140 in the queue! Luckily Ardeekid, who lives in Isabela, was physically in a ticketbooth in SM Isabela, and there were no lines at all. He was able to get us SVIP tickets without effort. Alanis is currently in the European leg of her tour, I hope she’s not too hoarse by the time she gets here, can’t wait to scream “And every time you speak her name does she know how you told me you’d hold me until you die, till you die, but you’re still alive!”

I’ve had problems with purchasing tickets online in the past, too; always frustrating. Hope the Alanis concert goes well! My sister and I also have a concert coming up this autumn that’s been delayed since spring of 2020– looking forward to it!
